Outdoor Seniors

Fri May 29, 2009, 8:48 PM
I'm posting a bunch of outdoor seniors I've done because a Deviant buddy is doing his very first outdoor Senior session sometime soon and asked for posing and lighting advice/tips. His client is female, so I'll try to post mostly girls I've done. If any of you dear readers have any outdoor senior portraits in your own gallery, or if you have any good tips for my friend, please leave a comment here (with links, if you got photos). The more brains contributing to help a fellow photographer out, the better!

I've only been doing outdoor seniors since October, myself, so I could use some great tips too! Some of the stuff I'm posting isn't perfect, lighting wise, because I'm also just learning how to shoot people outdoors (like I said, only been doing this for 7 months).

This first set I've posted with my friend Tazlyn was pretty much the first outdoor shoot I'd ever done. She volunteered to pose for me as a practice shoot so I could get qualified to do Seniors at my work. We didn't even have a real reflector. I just taped aluminum foil to a big piece of cardboard and had my boyfriend hold it. It was pretty hilarious.

I'll post some better work from more recent shoots as I come across them at work. I have to unarchive them off our back-up computer, but I'll try to get better examples/ideas up for you in the next couple of days.

Good luck with your shoot!
